Vintage flute by Nils Christensen <ed_torres@digitelone.com> - Manila, Philippines - Saturday, September 08, 2001
I am selling a solid silver flute(tubes,keys and mechanism are silver) made by the Christensen Co. of Boston Mass . Nils Christensen was a flute craftsman for the Wm Haynes Co during its early years,and this flute exhibits many of the characteristics of the older Haynes. It also features Th. Boehm's original,and more logical mechanical design,such as the open g# and reverse thumb keys. It would take about 3 weeks to get used to,but it is well worth your time. It also has a c#trill key. The mechanism is "pinless"--instead of pins,it has small screws that hold the hinges to the steels. In good playing condition. Price is US$800,but I will consider reasonable offers. Thanks.

Open hole, B foot Yamaha 481. Solid silver head/body/foot. Yellow treated pads. Plays beautifully, I love this flute!!! I am the original owner. Selling because I have so many instruments, and don't play enough. I've got an old Gemeinhardt M3S to play for myself, and would rather this Yamaha go to a musician who is serious and needs a great step-up flute. New, this model lists for around $1950 plus tax.
