I recently received a professional study grant to do a performance research project in Irish music; as such, I would be interested in purchasing reasonably priced 'starter' instruments ( perhaps a fruit-wood celtic 'D' flute) to take along to the Arran Islands. I would also potentially purchase high quality low whistles (particularly by Copeland or a similar maker) or miscellanious quality 'folk' flutes. Happy New Year 2003 to all!

I am looking for an advanced flute. Preferrably Gmeinhardt. Solid silver (head, body, and foot). Gizmo key and low B foot. If possible, gold or gold plated lip plate, not required though. Open-hole keys (plugs if you have them). Offset alignment preferrably. Good playing condition. Willing to do minor repairs. Reasonably priced. Not custom or hand-made as it would be hard to find parts. I would like for you to be within a reasonable driving distance so that maybe we can get a look at it.
