Armstrong solid silver head, body, foot flute model 55B (Heritage II) made in 1994. does have some scratches consistent with its age and use but it sounds beautiful! Would rate 9 out 10 cosmetically. Modified Boehm system (closed G#)played by Paddy Carty, Paddy Taylor, and Billy Clifford on their recordings. Superb condition, with one nearly-invisible well-repaired crack in the head joint, remote from the embouchure. Recently beautifully repadded; each section stamped Rudall Carte & Co., with crown; barrel also stamped 381, Radcliff's Model, 23 Berners Street, Oxford Street, London. Original case, rosewood cleaning rod and grease pottle. Readily brought to A=440 pitch by extending the head joint 14 mm. Price $3500 (or will consider trade for equally fine vintage simple system wood or ebonite flute of any great maker).
