Hi, I am looking for a piccolo in good condition. I would prefer silver/silver plated, and the brands Gemeinhardt, Yamaha, Artley, and/or Armstrong. I am in high school band, and I will need one that will last me for the next 3 years. Mid-level or semi-pro would be alright. Modified Boehm system (closed G#)played by Paddy Carty, Paddy Taylor, and Billy Clifford on their recordings. Superb condition, with one nearly-invisible well-repaired crack in the head joint, remote from the embouchure. Recently beautifully repadded; each section stamped Rudall Carte & Co., with crown; barrel also stamped 381, Radcliff's Model, 23 Berners Street, Oxford Street, London. Original case, rosewood cleaning rod and grease pottle. Readily brought to A=440 pitch by extending the head joint 14 mm. Price $3500 (or will consider trade for equally fine vintage simple system wood or ebonite flute of any great maker).
