I bought this piccolo new in 1999, so it is only 7 years old, but looks almost new and plays perfectly. i recently gave it a check up and replaced any worn pads and tightened springs, etc. So, it looks, sounds, and plays like new and very beautifully i might add. The 4rSH model from Gemeinhardt features: solid silver headjoint silver plated body conical bore silver plated keys berryllium copper springs rolled tone holes for better durablity and less pad wear These puppies sell for about 1000 bucks new (with tax and everything).
