This wood headjoint is made of Grenadilla wood with a rosewood Inlay in the embouchure, for image go http://www.robertsflutes.com/headjoints.html The tonal quality is bright and stays clear and direct over the flutes' full range. The rosewood inlay in the grenadilla wood acquires a subtle darkness to the sound. It is tuned to modern pitch and fit easily into the modern flute. It is crafted completely out of one piece of wood-lip and body. The tenon mount are in sterling silver. Mint-Excellent condition, I paid $1,400, but I'm willing to sell it for $1,000. I have a Vito piccolo with a silver plated headjoint and plastic body (similar to the Yamaha 32 model). It plays great! I have not played it for 6 months.
