Absolutely beautiful Boehm antique flute from the 1890's in ebonite. This flute is marked with the Boosey & Co. name but upon consultation with some experts, I believe it was actually made by Rudall Carte and resold under the Boosey name (Rudall Carte was known for the unibody boehm flutes and to use ebonite which was a more resiliant substitute of grendilla wood. Unibody flutes (where the C foot and body are one piece) are very rare. Keywork is Boehm style with closed G# and the more traditional Boehm reverse B/Bb keys probably of german silver.
